Notice on Behalf of BF Safety Commitee

Today we received the following from British Fencing. I would like to draw the attention of all our coaches to its contents:

“This weekend at the BUCS Championships there was an incident where a broken foil blade pierced a pair of breeches and caused a leg injury.
British Fencing would like to take this opportunity to remind all coaches and clubs to be ever vigilant. Whilst we can never reduce the risk of accidents to zero, wearing the correct safety equipment during lessons and sparring, as set out in our Safety Guidelines, will reduce the risk of serious injury.”
