Committee Member for Theatrical Fencing

Andy Wilkinson has been an active member of the British Academy of Fencing since 1988 and is a three time honoured member of The Academy.

Andy is a UK based Film & Theatre Director specialising as a 2nd Unit/Stunt Unit director and Sword Master.

He has professionally worked in the entertainment industry since 1984 with over 74 credits to his name, as well as training main cast actors, stunt actors and extras in fencing, sword play, unarmed combat and all period weapons.

He has coordinated large-scale battle scenes as well as one on one-fight sequences for a number of Hollywood films as well as independent film/theatre companies.

He is also the only GB Fight Director to ever win the coveted World Artistic Fencing Championship AAI (Vichy, France in 2000).

Andy is the director of his own production company, Wilkinson Productions Ltd, which is based at Pinewood Studios.

Wilkinson Productions is an approved contractor with 1st Option Safety Services enabling Andy to be at the forefront of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment requirements relating to Theatrical Fencing and Swordplay on set and location and training.
Andy is a professional member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, Directors UK, Actors Equity, Writers Guild of Great Britain, BECTU and is a Film and Television voting member.
