A.A.I. Representative:Prof. Philip Bruce World Association of National Fencing Academies
The National Fencing Academies, meeting in Congress on the 21st and 22nd April 1962 in Basel - following a provisional committee created in 1958 and a desire for a Union of the body of masters expressed on the 17th August 1930 in Antwerp - decided to constitute a world organization bringing together all the National Associations and to give themselves statutes. The goals of the AAI are: - to unite all National Fencing Academies that exist worldwide and encourage graduated Fencing Masters to establish an Academy in the country they work in if an Academy does not already exist. to assure and maintain regular friendly communication and information between the National Academies -· to cooperate with the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime (FIE) - to represent it’s members around the world in the face of public, private or any other organisation - to contribute to the development of the principles, rules, techniques and methods of the teaching of fencing in all its different forms - to assure the distribution of all documents related to fencing- to support the continuing technical and pedagogical studies of it’s members by all possible means |
